Bengaluru: A massive fire broke out on Nandi Hills, a popular tourist spot bordering the city, on Saturday, resulting in the damage of over 100 trees.

Even though the Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation (KSTDC) staff along with the police, volunteers and the Fire and Emergency services personnel tried to put out the fire, it spread viciously, causing fear among visitors.

The fire also spread to cottages on the hills, the breaking glass window panes. The fire could be witnessed from the distant Amrit Sarovar coffee estate and through the Sultanpet route. It was seen to be rising from the foothills, going all the way to the top.
