BBMP’s ‘e-property’ software makes obtaining property papers simpler

Bengaluru: The municipal body BBMP will be introducing an e-property software, an online property record management system in the fiscal year 2023-24 in order to keep the process transparent, prevent cases of fake documentation, abolish illegal transactions and prevent corruption on the whole by eliminating commission agents who often delay the procedure.
The software can be used for property sale, inheritance, partition, will, land acquisition, and khata amalgamation or bifurcation. It has already been introduced in the East zone and will be extended to the South and West zones soon, it informed.
The same mechanism will be adopted for all account related activities in the coming days. “Earlier there were 42 criteria for verification. We have simplified the process by eliminating some overlapping points,” Deepak Jain, BBMP special commissioner said.
“We have conducted a verification of government or commercial properties by using drones on Ballari road as a pilot project. But it captures only the perimeter, so BBMP officers have to conduct physical verification again. Due to this, the process gets delayed sometimes. We will discuss it with the BBMP chief commissioner and senior officers about how to expand the e-property software in other fields,” he added
