Bengaluru: All India Democratic Students Organisation (AIDSO) demanded that examination timetables for Bangalore City University (BCU) and other varsities be released at the earliest.
They added that since Assembly elections were likely to start in late April or early May, they may try to wrap up exams early on, but there was no clarity on the dates and subjects. They even submitted a memorandum requesting the same to BCU VC Lingraj Gandhi.
“Despite classes being completed for first semester students for a month now, the Bangalore City University has not yet released the exam time table. Also, study holidays for third semester students have already begun and are amidst their preparation for exams,” an AIDSO statement said.
“In the background of upcoming Karnataka Assembly elections, the State government is considering winding up exams by mid of April. If the exams aren’t over by this time and gets pushed to a date after elections (post May), then, this will cause severe trouble for the next semester,” the statement added Similar memoranda were submitted to VCs across the state including vasities in Tumakuru, Kalburgi, Dharwad, Raichur, apart from Vijayanagara Krishnadevaraya University
