Four arrested for assaulting patrol police

Bengaluru: Four miscreants were arrested for allegedly assaulting two police constables who were on patrol duty within the RMC Yard Police Station limits. Police have identified the accused as Gangadhar, 33, Sudheer Kumar, 30, Satish, 36 and Ravi Gwoda, 34, all residents of Nandini Layout in the city.

According to sources, the constables, Santosh Kumar and Avinash, attached to RMC Yard Police Station were on patrol duty when a fuel station employee informed them about four men smoking cigarettes on their premises.

Santosh Kumar who confronted the gang allegedly found that they were drunk. As the constable asked them to leave, the gang argued with him and then started assaulting him. A Hoysala unit reached the spot following Santosh's alert and nabbed the gang. A case has been registered against the accused.
