Gubbi MLA can’t come back to JD(S), HDK contradicts Ibrahim

Tumakuru / Hassan: J D(S) legislature party leader HD Kumaraswamy on Wednesday contradicted party state president CM Ibrahim and said that Gubbi MLA SR Srinivas was no longer welcome in the JD(S).

Srinivas hasn’t announced formally that he has joined Congress because it will result in his disqualification under the anti-defection law but is as good as gone. Ibrahim had said that the Gubbi MLA would be willing to come back to JD(S), they’d let bygones be bygones.

Kumaraswamy took issue with this and said that Ibrahim shouldn’t make confusing statements that would confuse party workers. “We are fielding Nagaraj (party leader) in Gubbi instead,” Kumaraswamy said. On the day, he had been busy with the Pancharatna Rath Yatre campaign in his brother HD Revanna's Assembly constituency Holenarasipura in Hassan district, among other nearby segments.
