Retired BEL employee 'murders' daughter

Bengaluru: A retired employee of Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) was arrested by the Kodigehalli police for allegedly killing his own daughter over family issues on Thursday.

Ramesh, 60, a resident of Dhanalakshmi Layout, killed his 32-year-old married daughter, Asha, who worked as a lecturer before her marriage. Deputy Commissioner of Police, North-East Division, BM Laxmi Prasad said that the jurisdictional police had received an alert of an unnatural death in Dhanalakshmi Layout on Thursday morning.

"After a preliminary probe, we learnt that she had been seriously injured and had died. Later, we got to know that the father himself had killed his daughter. We have arrested him and further investigation is under way," he said.
