Pay with a poem for a cup of coffee on world poetry day

Bengaluru: On the occasion of World Poetry Day , which is being celebrated on 21 March across the world, the Urban Solace is organising the ‘Pay with a Poem’ on Tuesday. The programme will be held from 11 am to 11 pm at the Bard at Urban Solace Energy.
The age-old concept of ‘Pay with a Poem’ is carried across many countries of the world. Here the coffee shops ask their customers to write a poem for them and in return they give them a coffee of their choice for free.
Perry Menzies on behalf of Urban Solace has been using this enlightening process across Bangalore for over a decade now. “World Poetry Day celebrates the spirit of reading, writing , publishing and teaching of poetry throughout the world. We at Urban Solace have been conducting the ‘Pay with a Poem’; for a decade now," said Perry Menzies.
"We have had very vibrant exchanges of knowledge and enlightenment with each session. In today’s world with so much hate swirling around us and the spirit of reading and writing dying, it would be thrilling if someone takes back a new thought or a learning from this, ” Perry Menzies from Urban Solace further added. The event has no gatekeeping and is open to all to share their poems and take back some with them.
