
Police destroy drugs worth Rs 90.08 cr

Bengaluru: As part of Drug Traf ficking and National Security, the police here destroyed seized narcotics worth Rs 90.08 crore at an undisclosed location near Dabaspet Industrial Area on the outskirts of the city in the presence of senior police officials.
According to sources, the destroyed contraband items included 4,110 kg ganja, 11 kg ganja oil, 22 kg hashish oil, 8 kg opium, 5.5 kg charas, 62.7 kg MDMA powder, 8073 MDMA tablets worth 90 crores.
The Drugs Disposal Committee constituted as per the order of the Supreme Court had obtained the permission of the competent authority to destroy 4,297.8 kg worth of narcotics seized in cases registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, from last October to March this year in various police stations of the city.
