School bags with BJP leader's photo seized

Bengaluru: In the wake of an alert about a large number of bags bearing a photo of a BJP leader being stored inside a warehouse in Chamarajpet here, GST inspectors accompanied by jurisdictional police on Sunday seized the school bags.

The school bags numbering about 450 carried a photo of BJP MLA from KR Pete constituency KC Narayanagowda. According to sources, Manjunath, Bengaluru president of the KRS Party, had informed the officials about the storage and distribution plans of the school bags by the party workers amid election campaigns.

The KRS alleged that the supporters of the MLA have hidden more than 10,000 similar bags to woo the voters in order to grab their votes. Based on the allegations, investigation is underway to track down more such items.
