Bengaluru: Following a recent murder that was made to look like an accident, the Madanayakanahalli police arrested three persons in connection with the incident. The accused have been identified as Chandan, 24, Gautam, 24, and Rajesh, all residents of Dasanapura hobli.

On March 16, a person, Chandrashekhar, 30, was found dead on the Sondekoppa Main Road and it looked like he fell off his motorcycle as the police found his bike lying next to his body. However after carefully examining the body and the bike, the police refused to believe it to be an accident.

Preliminary probe had revealed that Chandrashekhar had been running an online gambling racket, which was funded by a local rowdy-sheeter, Bettanagere Manjunath, who was on the run since the incident.

The police found that Chandrashekhar was run over by a car, which resulted in his death. A murder case was taken up by the Madanayakanahalli police and after an intense manhunt, the cops nabbed three persons in connection with the incident. Police have said that the deceased person was involved in an argument with the rowdy-sheeter and his friends over the share earned in gambling.

"Following a quar rel, Chandrashekhar left the place but was followed by the accused persons in a car. As he was about to reach his house, they allegedly knocked down Chandrashekhar's bike and ran over him," an investigating officer said. Further investigation is on.
