Bengaluru: Chain-snatching incidents have become a menace for residents in the city. Considering the crime an easy way to make money, more and more petty crime offenders are turning into chain snatchers, caring very little about the risks involved in it.

In a recent incident, a woman who was on her way to a temple in Puttenahalli Police Station limits was attacked by two bike-borne armed assailants who attempted to snatch a gold chain she was wearing. The woman, however, resisted and fought the miscreants, foiling their attempt to get her chain but ended up suffering cut injuries in her hand in the process.

The incident took place on March 6 and a complaint was registered at the jurisdictional police station regarding the matter. After an investigation and procuring CCTV footage of the incident from a nearby area, Puttenahalli police arrested two men identified as Manoj Kumar and Franklin.

The woman in her complaint stated that the duo approached her on a bike and when they tried to snatch her chain, she resisted it. The accused then stabbed her multiple times on the hand with a knife. The woman is currently being treated for cut injuries on her hand. The accused have been arrested and are being interrogated by the police
