BBMP to hold meet with RWAs today to address voter apathy

Bengaluru: To create awareness among voters and solve the issue of voter apathy, the municipal body the BBMP has decided to hold an interaction with members of Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) as well as apartment associations on Tuesday.

The interaction will be led by BBMP Chief Commissioner Tushar Girinath and will be organised in Bommanahalli and Mahadevapura zones. In Bommanahalli, the interaction is scheduled at 12 pm at the Christ University, Bannerghatta Main Road and in Mahadevapura at the Sheraton Grand Bengaluru Whitefield Hotel and Convention Center at 3 pm.

The Election Commission of India on March 29 announced the schedule for the 224 assembly constituencies in Karnataka. The polls will be held on May 10 and the results are to be announced on May 13. The ECI has expressed concern over the dwindling turnout of voters in Bengaluru Urban during the previous two assembly elections.
