Ramanagara:

In an embarrassment to the JD(S), Nikhil Kumaraswamy while on a campaign trail was confronted by women in Doddabigere village of Kanakapura taluk in Ramanagara district, who complained that they hadn’t been provided basic facilities. The women argued that the village which falls under the Ramanagara constituency – where Nikhil’s mother Anitha Kumaraswamy is the sitting MLA – didn’t have basic facilities like sanitation, drinking water and roads.

In a video that has now gone viral, Nikhil can be seen trying to placate the women by saying their problems would be addressed. Anitha will vacate the Ramanagara seat in favour of her son who will contest from the segment in the 2018 Assembly elections. “This village has no facilities. We have been telling everyone who visits here the same thing. We will not vote this time,” one of the women said. “We are disillusioned,” she added.
