Bengaluru: The city traffic police had made elaborate arrangements for parking of private vehicles, pedestrian movement and safety of visitors in and around the Chinnaswamy stadium, which hosted the much-awaited Indian Premier League (IPL) match between the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Monday here.

Sources said that there was heavy traffic jam on the roads around the Chinnaswamy stadium as a huge number of fans were rushing towards the venue where the IPL match was being played. However due to the efforts of the Bengaluru Traffic Police (BTP), vehicular traffic congestion was avoided and the flow of the vehicles on the roads was smooth despite the huge crowd.

According to sources, there was a heavy traffic jam on the Museum Road, Cubbon Road and the HAL junction after which a team of traffic personnel were deployed around the area. In the afternoon Special Commissioner of Police, Bengaluru traffic, MA Saleem was spotted manning the traffic at the Cubbon Road here.

Videos and photos of Saleem along with other traffic personnel manning the signals and traffic flow were circulated on social media and received positive feedback from the netizens. The citizens too praised the dedicative efforts of the BTP during the rush on Monday
