SWR to run special trains to clear summer rush

Hassan / Bengaluru: South Western Railway (SWR) will run two special trains, one between Arsikere town in Hassan district to Chennai and another from Bengaluru to New Delhi.

According to the SWR officials here there will be no return journeys for either train and they are both meant to clear the rush, caused by the summer vacation. The Arsikere to MGR Chennai Central Summer Special will leave Arsikere at 9 pm on Wednesday and reach MGR Chennai Central at 8:20 am on Thursday.

The 20-coach train will have stoppages at Tiptur, Tumakuru, Sir M Visvesvaraya Terminal Bengaluru, among others. The Yesvantpur to Hazrat Nizamuddin summer special will leave Yesvantpur at 1:50 pm on Thursday and reach Hazrat Nizamuddin at 11:30 am on Saturday.

The train with 20 coaches, will have stoppages at Tumakuru, Arsikere, Davangere, Harihar, Haveri, Gadag, Koppal, Hosapete, Ballari, , Kurnool, Kacheguda, Nagpur, Bhopal, Agra and other stations. The train will run via Hubballi bypass, said an SWR official.
