Bengaluru: A fresh allegation of corruption was levelled ag ainst the BJP on Thursday as Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) claimed that Rs 223 crore was ear marked for vehicles for Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) officials but most of it remained unaccounted for.
AAP state communication in-charge Brijesh Kalappa alleged that the amount was meant for persons holding 166 posts but 90 per cent of them hadn’t received any vehicle, begging the question what happened to the funds.
Kalappa said: “As per the order issued by the BBMP, it provides vehicles to all the persons holding 166 posts from 2017-18. But out of this, vehicles have not been distributed to 90 per cent of the people. This plan is worth Rs 223 crores and where this money was spent is a matter to be investigated. The Election Commission should monitor this.” The AAP leader said that BJP had been engaged in infighting and politics of caste and governance had taken a hit.
“HD Kumaraswamy of JD(S) said Pralhad Joshi, who belongs to a certain caste, may become the CM if BJP comes to power. Now, BL Santosh has changed seven or eight candidates to become CM, alleges Jagadish Shetta. This proves that, in BJP, there will be competition between Pralhad Joshi and BL Santosh to become the Chief Minister,” he said.
