Congress slams Shah for wearing slippers in temple premise

Bengaluru: The sight of Home Minister Amit Shah wearing slippers in the Sri Chamundeshwari temple premises after offering prayers has kicked up a controversy, with the Congress slamming him to ask, “should the BJP leaders not have more faith in religion than others” on Twitter.

“Why is Amit Shah only wearing shoes when everyone else is barefoot? Should they not have more faith than the others? Bootu exposed the hypocrisy of BJP,” Karnataka Congress tweeted.

Reacting to this, Congress supporters and a few Twitter users backed the tweet and said it is the ideology of Hindutva. A very few have also claimed Shah to be a “shameless fellow” besides asking Pratab Simha, the BJP MP, on Twitter asking for his comments on the same.

Meanwhile, the tweet also earned Congress' wrath with many saying there is no wrong with wearing slippers outside the shrine
