
K'taka BJP candidate's son fires in air, invites FIR

Bengaluru: A video featuring Samarth Vijugouda, the son of BJP’s Bableshwar candidate Vijugouda Patil opening fire in air in Vijayapura is doing the rounds ahead of the assembly election, raising concern over the law and order situation in the state.
In a very short video that has gone viral, he was seen firing bullets in the air. The incident took place on April 12. Congress party in the state alleged it was an attempt to celebrate his father getting a BJP ticket to contest for the assembly election.
The Karnataka’s Additional Deputy General of Police for Law and Order Alok Kumar said the department has filed an FIR against him and the process to cancel the arms license would be initiated. Meanwhile, the users on social media, expressing their views, questioned what would happen if the BJP wins in this assembly seat. The state goes to poll on May 10, for which the results will be announced on May 13.
