Bengaluru: Bengaluru is gearing up for the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi’s visit on May 6. Security protocols are in place along with traffic advisories issued by Bengaluru City Traffic police.
In the process of preparation for his visit, a video of several mature fully grown trees being chopped down and the branches being transported in a lorry from Basavanagudi went viral on social media. Reacting to this video, netizens on Twitter have expressed their rage, disappointment and dissatisfaction with the PM.
Several users stated that it is already summer and people are struggling, and it is not fair to chop down trees for a one-day event, while some people have complained that there is already a lack of trees and green life in the garden city and this step is extreme. Most people have retweeted the video blaming the BBMP for approving this and the PM for turning a blind eye to the unnecessary “massacre”.
