Bus conductor crushed to death

Bengaluru: In a tragic incident, a Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) bus conductor was crushed to death by a BMTC electric bus at the Yelahanka suburb depot on Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as Somappa, a conductor of bus number KA-51AH 2558. According to sources, the incident took place around 4:30 pm when Somappa was returning after handing over the day collection to the higher-ups at the bus depot. The driver of the bus, who kept the bus moving while Somappa was returning, allegedly lost control, crushing him between the bus and the wall.

Due to the impact the depot wall was damaged. According to sources, a private driver was assigned to drive the e-bus. The conductor died on the spot and the body was taken to a hospital. The Yelahanka traffic police visited the spot and registered a case.
