A new film starring Radhika Kumaraswamy and Bollywood actor Shreyas Talpade was launched in Hyderabad earlier this week. Titled Ajagratha – Shadows Behind the Darkness, the film is directed by M Shashidhar and will be released in seven languages.
Apart from Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi, the film is also being made in Marathi and Konkani as well. The film will also mark Shreyas Talpade’s debut in Kannada. Unlike the trend of panIndia films where a film made in one language is dubbed into other languages, this film will be shot in all the seven languages.
“This is the first time the same film is being shot simultaneously in so many languages. It will be an original film in each language,” Shashidhar said. The director explained that the meaning of Ajagratha means doing something without thinking of the consequences beforehand. He said the film is a thriller which has edge-of-the-seat moments.
The muharat of the film was held at the Ramoji Film Studio and was attended by film personalities from different industries. Popular Telugu producer AM Ratnam sounded the clapboard for the first shot of the film while well-known distributor Tagore Madhu formally switched on the camera.
Director Shashidhar said that apart from Shreays and Radhika, the film has Samuthirakani, Rao Ramesh, Sunil, Aditya Menon, Raghavendra Shravan , Devaraj, Jayaprakash, Vinaya Prasad, Sparsha Rekha and Suchendra Prasad in important roles.
The film is produced by Raviraj and has cinematography by Sandeep Valluri, and music by Srihari. This will be Srihari’s debut film. Ravi Varma will handle the stunts. Producer Raviraj is incidentally the brother of Radhika Kumaraswamy. He is producing the film under his own banner rather than that of Radhika’s Shamika Productions.
Radhika has completed shooting of her home production Bhairadevi in which she plays the lead role. Plans for the release of the film are underway. Shreyas on the other hand has been a regular face in Hindi and Marathi films. He has also ventured into Marathi television industry
