Boy dies of heart attack while playing on 'bouncy castle'

Bengaluru: In a tragic incident, a young boy died of a heart attack while playing on an air balloon at the Muthyalamma fair on the outskirts of Bengaluru in Doddaballapura, late Wednesday night.

The parents of the deceased expressed their anger against the fair organisers following their son's untimely death. The deceased has been identified as 11-year-old Shreyas, the son of Manjunath, a resident of Shantinagar in the town. Manjunath runs a small snack shop, and Shreyas was a seventh-grade student.

Last night, he had accompanied his mother to the fair, which has been going on for the past two days. Tragically, Shreyas suffered a heart attack while jumping on the air balloon and collapsed, resulting in his death. In a state of panic, his mother and others immediately rushed him to the hospital, but the doctors pronounced him dead.

The Muthyalamma Devi fair, dedicated to the deity of Doddaballapura town, is celebrated in a grand manner as a yearly tradition. The fair offers a variety of games for entertainment. However, it is a matter of concern that no precautionary measures were taken. The organizers allegedly failed to arrange for an ambulance despite the large gathering.

The parents alleged that their son's death could have been prevented with timely first aid.
