Bengaluru: Kannada actress Sruthi Hariharan, who had levelled allegations of sexual misconduct against actor Arjun Sarja, has been issued a notice by a court to produce evidence after she challenged the B-report filed by the police in the case, sources said on Friday.

In 2018, Sruthi Hariharan had accused Arjun Sarja of sexual misconduct and inappropriate behaviour on the sets of the film ‘Nibunan’, which was released in 2017. She had shared her #MeToo story on Twitter.

Actor Arjun Sarja rejected the allegations outright, saying Sruthi Hariharan had made and filed a defamation case of Rs 5 crore against her in 2018. An FIR in the case has been lodged against the actress with the cybercrime police. Meanwhile, the Cubbon Park police in Bengaluru, which had investigated the matter, filed a B-report of lack of evidence with the court.

The actress had objected to the closure of the case in the court. The 8th Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) court in Bengaluru has issued a notice in this regard, and asked the actress to provide evidence regarding her allegations. The court, which heard her petition, ordered notice to her to produce evidence in connection with the case.
