Vasishta Simha starrer Love Li is scouting for a release date in August and the film team has started the promotional activities in full earnest.
The title song of the film was released this week in the presence of several Sandalwood stars including Crazy Star Ravichandran, Upendra, Nenapirali Prem, Priyanka Upendra and Haripriya.
The film is directed by debutant Chetan Keshav and is bankrolled by Ravindra Kumar.
Speaking at the release of the title song, director Keshav, said, “You have witnessed how colourful this song is. Similarly, the entire film is vibrant, colourful and rich. This was made possible by the producer’s confidence in the content. This is a pure romance which tries to define love in all its complexities, beauty and emotions. For anyone who is romantic at heart, this is a film that will fill it to the brim,” he said.
Keshav has spent a decade in Sandalwood learning the ropes under different directors. “I have worked with Narthan on Mufti and other films with other directors, mostly in action films. My interest in films started in my school days. Ravichandran and Upendra are my inspiration. Though Love Li is a romance film, it has mass elements because of my experience in action films. Though it is not philosophical, there is a message in the story as well,” he said.
The film has been shot in Mangaluru, Bengaluru and Upupi but the shooting has not yet been wrapped up. The director plans to shoot the one song that is yet to be canned in London.
“Along with romance, the film touches aspects of rowdyism and family drama. Relationships depend on faith and love, but how do we preserve them is the underlying theme of the film. To keep the audience engaged in the narration, I have included four songs and three action blocks,” he revealed.
Vasishta Simha said that Love Li was a film that touched his heart.
“This film has a special place in my heart. The director’s narration impressed me and the execution was well-planned and was satisfying. We have launched the promotions with the release of this title song and hope to find a nice date to release in August. The title of the film is apt for the lovely story it tells. I am looking forward to experience it on the big screen along with the audience,” he said.
For Stefy Patel, Love Li marks her Sandalwood debut. “I have worked in South films including in Tamil and Telugu. This is my first Kannada film and it gladdens my heart to have worked with such a wonderful team. My character in the film, Janani, has become a part of my life now. I look forward to working in more Kannada films,” she said.
Sandalwood stars Ravichandran, Upendra and Nenapirali Prem praised the quality of the title song and wished success for the film.
