Following their first meeting, Mahesh invited the woman to Mysuru and expressed his intention to establish a clinic in Vijayanagar. After discussing the matter with her family and obtaining their consent, the woman mar ried Mahesh in Visakhapatnam. However, the day after their wedding, Mahesh left their home on the pretext of an urgent operation.

According to the complaint, Mahesh returned three days later and demanded a loan of Rs 70 lakh to finance the clinic. When the woman refused to provide the requested amount, Mahesh resorted to threats of violence. He also seized Rs 15 lakh in cash and 200 grams of gold from the house.
