Scolded for drinking, son kills father

Bengaluru: In another incident of brutal murder that came to light on Thursday, a 55-year old resident of Magadi Road died at a hospital in the city after his son killed him for being scolded for over drinking. The deceased was identified as Gangaraju, 55, who lived with his wife and two sons.
The accused was one of his own sons, Chetan, 28, whom the jurisdictional police arrested under a murder case. It was revealed that a heavily drunk Chetan came home on Wednesday night and was rebuked by his father, Gangaraju. The argument between the two went on until 2 am after which Gangaraju went to sleep in the main hall of the house.
Angered for being scolded, Chetan brought a heavy stone from outside his house and dropped it on his father's head. A severely injured Gangaraju was rushed to the Victoria hospital where he died on Thursday. Deputy Commissioner of Police, West Division, Laxman Nimbargi visited the spot along with a few personnel later in the day. He said that the accused has been arrested and is being interrogated.
