Bengaluru: The newly elected chairman of the Karnataka Milk Federation Bheema Naik said the Indira canteens in the state were likely to sell Nandini products, adding a meeting regarding the same would be held with the Chief Minister soon.

According to the reports, the chairman said he will discuss the matter with the CM along with the Minister of Co-Operation. He also said the Chief Minister has thought of setting up separate Nnadini counters at the Indira canteens. Nandini is a dairy product that produces and sells ghee, cheese, curd, milk, ice creams, butter, and chocolates under the direct control of the state.

The move to introduce the products at these canteens draws attention as Cong ress promised to protect them before coming to power. It promised to protect the state product and farmers, adding it is better than Amul products. The Nandini product played a crucial role in the political battleground of the state in the recently held assembly election after Amul announced its plan to enter the state markets.
