Bengaluru: A shocking incident occurred on June 5 in Nagarabhavi involving an MBA student from a private college. A group of individuals wearing helmets attacked the student outside his college, an event that was captured on camera. In the distressing 11-second video, the victim, identified as Darshan, is seen being violently assaulted, causing him to fall to the ground.

Following the initial attack, another person approaches from behind and kicks him, while the main perpetrator, Sahas Gowda, uses a machete to strike Darshan on his back. After the assault, the attackers hastily fled the scene. Subsequently, Darshan filed a complaint with the Annapoorneshwari Nagar Police Station. Promptly responding to the incident, the police initiated a search for the culprits, leading to the apprehension of seven students.

According to the police, the motive behind the attack stemmed from an ongoing animosity between Sahas and Darshan. Both individuals attended the same college and had recently been involved in a clash related to a romantic affair concerning one of Darshan's friends.

It has been revealed that Sahas had previously attempted to harm Darshan, but the latter managed to evade the assault. Consequently, Darshan had allegedly been threatening Sahas, creating an atmosphere of fear and tension. In response to the perceived threat, Sahas decided to carry out the attack on June 5, enlisting the help of his friends.

Their intention, as claimed by the arrested students, was solely to warn Darshan, and they profess to have had no knowledge of Sahas possessing a machete. Fortunately, Darshan escaped the ordeal with only minor injuries. The police have since taken into custody the seven men who are enrolled in different colleges.
