Bengaluru: A signalling issue on the Bengaluru Metro Purple Line caused disruption on Tuesday, resulting in delays of up to three minutes.

The issue was reported at the Vellara station around 10.30 am, and services were affected for about an hour. Metro officials said that the issue was caused by a power failure at the Vellara station, which affected the signalling system.

Trains were operated manually during this time, which resulted in the delays. The issue was resolved by 11.30 am, and services resumed normal operation. However, commuters had to face some inconvenience during the disruption.

Metro officials apologised for the inconvenience caused and said that they are taking steps to prevent such incidents from happening in the future. The signalling issue affected trains between the Vellara and MG Road stations. Commuters were advised to use alternative modes of transportation during the disruption.

Metro officials said that they are conducting an investigation into the incident to prevent it from happening again.
