Engineering student ends life

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: An engineering student allegedly took his own life by hanging from a ceiling fan using the leash of his pet dog at his house in Mico Layout Police Station limits in the city.

According to the police, the incident took place on Monday night and the deceased has been identified as Aryaman Ghosh, 22, a student and a part-time employee of a private firm in Bengaluru. Neighbours and relatives of Ghosh said that he had been suffering from depression in recent days and his isolation from others was evident that he preferred to spend his time alone.

However he found solace in the company of his pet dog, which he cared for and spoke to daily. The owner of the house where Ghosh resided became concerned when Ghosh's dog was barking incessantly. Upon looking through a window, the owner found the youth hanging and immediately alerted the police.

Mico Layout police, inspecting the spot, retrieved a death note allegedly left behind by the deceased.

One of the police officers told News Trail that it appears that the student had taken the extreme step due to his depression at his house in Sarvabhouma Nagar here.
