Dy CM DKS bids ‘good luck’ to BJP protesters, scoffs at ‘frustrated’ HDK

Bengaluru: Referring to the BJP holding protests both inside and outside the Legislature demanding the “immediate implementation of all five poll guarantees” besides showing dissidence over the proposed move of the incumbent government to repeal the Anti-Cow Slaughter and Anti-Conversion acts, DK Shivakumar on Tuesday wished the protesters “good luck” and “thanked” the BJP leaders for “popularising the five poll guarantee schemes of the state government.
Speaking to media persons before taking part in the session, he said that his party had done nothing wrong. The Congress has been everything possible to implement all its five poll promises.
The Shakti scheme of free bus ride to women in state run buses, Anna Bhagya free rice distribution scheme of providing 10 kilograms of rice to the poor and Griha Jyothi scheme of providing 200 units of free power have been officially launched, he reminded.
People are benefitting from the schemes, but BJP leaders are staging protests at the Freedom Park and in the state legislature as if the Congress has done something wrong.
Let BJP leaders give constructive suggestions to the government instead of holding protests, he said, going on to add sarcastically, “As the voters have notified them to take rest, they must take rest.”
Dismissing HD Kumaraswamys’ allegation of “cash for transfer scam” outright, he said, “Let Kumaraswamy lodge a complaint with the Lokayukta if he has records to prove the allegation instead of making baseless charges against his government.”
“It is obvious that Kumaraswamy is venting his frustration of securing very few votes in the recent elections by issuing statements that hold no water,” he added.
