Bommai: Probe all corruption cases of last 10 years

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: Former chief minister Basavaraj Bommai has demanded an inquiry into all corruption cases which came to light between 2013 and 2023.

He said the state government had ordered a judicial probe into the ‘40 percent commission charge’ that was made against the previous BJP Government.

The Congress Party has been making this allegation in the last one and a half years but has not provided any document to substantiate the allegation so far. The truth will come out in a judicial probe.

If the current government wants to fight corruption, then it must refer all corruption charges that surfaced from 2013 till March 2023 for a probe, he said adding a selective approach would not work.

Bommai also said several cases are pending before the Lokayukta related to various departments including Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) which must be referred for a judicial probe.

Former minister and RR Nagar MLA N.Muniratna had filed a defamation case against Contractors Association President Kempanna for making the 40 percent allegation against the BJP government.

So far, Kempanna had failed to furnish any documents to prove his charges, Bommai claimed.
