Anna Bhagya row: Youth Cong workers detained

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: Expressing strong agitation against the central government for suspending the rice from FCCI to Karnataka, the Youth Congress today staged a protest outside the BJP office in Malleshwaram.

The protest came against the backdrop of the state announcing money instead of rice to the people below the poverty line.

Mohammed Nallapad, the youth congress president led the protest by sloganeering against the BJP for suspending the rice, trying to hamper the Congress’ free rice scheme. However, the police detained the Youth Congress president and the supporters.

The BJP, on the contrary, continued their protest against the Congress party claiming they failed to fulfill the promise it made during the run-up to the polls.

The party protested inside and outside the assembly, causing a furor. Meanwhile, the money for the scheme is to begin on July 10.
