Set up judicial inquiries to probe scams: AAP

Bengaluru: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) suggested that the setting up of Special Investigation Teams (SIT) to investigate BJP era “scams” constituted “political blackmail”, adding that judicial inquiries would ensure fairness and must be preferred.

“The State Congress government has appointed special investigation teams to investigate the corruption scandals of thousands of crores of the previous BJP government.

It is only to silence the opposition parties and this could be a possible blackmailing strategy.

The Chief Minister can fulfill all the guarantees only through corruption free administration and if he desires to do so, let them form judicial commissions by including judges of the Supreme Court and High Courts to investigate,” AAP state president Prithvi Reddy said.

“No justice can be gotten from the police officers under the government for investigating the Bitcoin, 40 per cent commission, purchases made during corona, recruitment and transfer and de-notification scams. They cannot investigate the officials of their own department. All this is nothing but a hogwash to cover up the scams that looted thousands of crores of tax money from the people of the state. This can silence the opposition but this cannot bring justice to the people of the state. Many of the previous SIT investigations have already failed,” he added.
