A medical student, hailing from Bihar, has been arrested for allegedly harassing a woman and her 21-year-old daughter early Sunday.
The accused has been identified as Vijay Bharadwaj, a MS student of Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences. He was picked up on the basis of his car’s registration number (DL 10 CG 5396).
On Sunday, the victims’ car had developed a flat tyre near Hebbal circle around 2 am. The woman along with her daughter and son were returning to their home in Banashankari after visiting their relative in Hosakote.
The suspect parked his car near the victim’s car and started misbehaving with the woman’s daughter, while they were trying to replace the tyre. They warned him and left the place after replacing the tyre.
But the unidentified man started following them. Sensing trouble, the family called the police control room. The man followed them for nearly two hours.
When the victim’s car reached Goragunttepalya on the Tumakuru Road, the Hoysala patrol vehicle came to their help. On seeing the police, the unidentified man sped away.
The woman later filed a complaint at the Amruthalli police station.
