
Drunken brawl ends in death of rag picker

Bengaluru: A 40-year-old rag picker was murdered by his friend during a drunken brawl that took place between them near Malleswaram Police Station limits in the city on Saturday night.
The police, so far, have not been able to identify the deceased despite their best efforts.
However, after collecting statements from residents in the area of the crime, the cops said that the person used to pick rags from waste dumps and sell them for a living.
According to the police, the incident occurred around 7 pm on Malleswaram Link Road when the two got into a fight after getting drunk.
During the fight, the accused is said to have taken a log lying nearby and hit the victim on the head killing him on the spot.
Alerted by a few passersby, the jurisdictional police reached the spot and shifted the unidentified body to Victoria Hospital.
