Illegal electric fence takes its toll, jumbo killed

Mysuru: 15 A tusker was electrocuted at Uddatti village in Hanur taluk of Chamarajanagar district on Tuesday.

According to information reaching here, Shivakumar, a farmer, had illegally electrified the fence surrounding his fields to protect crops from animal attacks. The village comes under BRT Tiger Reserve.

A wild jumbo which came in search of food, tried to enter the farm and got electrocuted. Forest officials visited the spot and have booked a case against the farm owner.
