Bengaluru: Vijayapura City BJP MLA and a strong contender for the post of Leader of Opposition in the State Legislative Assembly Basangouda Patil Yatnal has formed a strong social media team to take on the Congress Party on the social networking platform.
The team members put up several tweets of Yatnal on his Twitter Account, mainly targeting Congress leaders, and uploaded videographs of his verbal attacks on the ruling party members and ministers on the floor of the Legislative Assembly.
The team has been active and commented on every remark of Congress leaders on BJP leaders in general and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in particular.
The reel for Instagram and Youtube was shot in front of Vidhana Soudha and uploaded. The latest one is about Deputy Chief Minister D.K.Shivakumar reportedly taunting Yatnal in the Assembly two days ago, and Yatnal’s warning to the PCC President of giving back in the coin but in a typical North Karnataka dialect. Yatnal’s reels have reportedly been shared by hundreds of people.
Former chief minister Basavaraj Bommai too has a strong social media team but hardly uses social media networks after demitting office as CM. He rarely tweets on important state or national political happenings.
Even his speeches in the Legislative Assembly are not uploaded on social media. Hardly any state BJP leader is active on social media networks except Mysuru-Kodagu MP Pratap Simha, Rajajinagar MLA S Sureshkumar, Mangaluru MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, and Bengaluru South MP Tejaswi Surya.
In contrast, Congress leaders like Dy CM Shivakumar post everything daily. The tweets of Siddaramaiah are also uploaded on social media while Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy had been active on social sites whether in power or not.
