HDK unable to bear Mandya loss: Cheluvarayaswamy

Bengaluru: Agriculture Minister N Cheluvarayaswamy on Thursday claimed that JD(S) legislature party leader HD Kumaraswamy had been making transfer allegations against the State government because he is still smarting from his party losses in the Old Mysuru region, especially Mandya.
For weeks now, the former chief minister has been alleging that money is changing hands to enable transfers of officers under this government.
On Wednesday, he even claimed that there is a ‘rate card’ for different kinds of transfers. “Lok Sabha elections are coming up.
He (Kumaraswamy) must be saying they’re taking my Mandya away from me. We won six out of seven (Assembly) seats there . He must have found this difficult to stomach,” Cheluvarayaswamy said.
Kumaraswamy on the other hand insisted that he was raising the issue in public interest adding that he had no other motivations.
“You (Congress) took advertisements saying Rs1.5 lakh crores was looted (by the previous government). If that is the case, why haven’t you ordered an investigation? Producing documents for the same is difficult. From where will you get it? I’m raising this matter because I have been entrusted with the authority. It is false to suggest that I am simply doing this because we lost,” he said.
This is not the first time that Kumaraswamy and Cheluvarayaswamy have crossed swords. A week ago, the JD(S) leader had demanded that the Agriculture Minister be sacked over the suicide attempt of a bus driver Jagadeesh in Nagamangala town in Mandya.
