Bengaluru: DJ Halli police said that a gang of five people has been nabbed in connection with the killing of a history-sheeter near Sultanpalya in the city recently.

News Trail, on July 12, had reported about Kapil, a history-sheeter at Madiwala Police Station in Bengaluru, being hacked to death by a rival gang near KHB Main Road under DJ Halli Police Station Limits.

A seriously injured Kapil was rushed to a hospital by some locals, but he died without responding to treatment the next morning.

Within three days of the crime, Bengaluru East Police have arrested five men including two from Tamil Nadu. The arrested men have been identified as Naveen, Rahul, Puneeth Kumar, Pavan Kumar and Shankar.

Initial information suggests that Naveen and Rahul gave contract to four men to eliminate Kapil and on their orders, four men attacked and killed Kapil. It was revealed that Kapil was involved in the real estate business but had a tussle with Naveen and Rahul.
