Gruha Lakshmi applications from Wednesday

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has disclosed that application submission for Gruha Lakshmi Yojane, which offers Rs 2,000 monthly to a woman head of family, would begin on Wednesday.

He made the announcement on Sunday. A day earlier, Woman and Child Development Minister Laxmi Hebbalkar had said that the scheme would be launched on Monday by Congress national leaders, failing which Chief Minister Siddaramaiah would do the honours on Wednesday.

The Grand Old Party’s national leaders are scheduled to arrive in Bengaluru on Monday for the grand Opposition meet of at least 24 parties but it seems unlikely that they’ll be available for the launch of the scheme.
