Bengaluru: In a recent legal development, the city commercial court has dismissed a petition filed by former MP and Kannada actress Ramya against the film crew of 'Hostel Hudugaru Bekaggiddare'.

According to media reports, Ramya had accused the film team of using her pictures and videos in the movie without obtaining her consent and had requested the court to halt the release of the film. The court's decision came on Thursday, and it means that the film will proceed with its scheduled release on July 21.

However, there is a possibility that the court might order the film crew to compensate Ramya if the case continues in the future. The film 'Hostel Hudugaru Bekaggiddare' is directed by Nithin Krishnamurthy, and Ramya is part of the movie in a guest role.

The director, Nithin Kumar, expressed disappointment at receiving the legal notice from Ramya, stating that they had worked on the film for over two years.

The movie's official trailer featured Ramya, along with actors Diganth, Rishab Shetty, and Pawan Kumar.

Ramya had sought Rs 1 crore in compensation from the film crew, alleging that her photos and visuals were used in the film without her permission. However, the court has ruled against her petition to halt the film's release.
