Let JD(S) clear stand on BJP support, says DKS
Bengaluru, NT Bureau: Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar on Thursday asked JD(S) to clear their stand as to which part they would side with in the Lok Sabha elections of 2024.
He made the comments in response to a question by a reporter, asking him what he made of the recent support by JD(S) legislature party leader HD Kumaraswamy to the BJP over the suspension of 10 MLAs from the saffron party, among other issues.
“Let them support anyone. They have the right to support and join in with anyone. Why should we interfere in their internal affairs? Kumaraswamy himself said it was an existential matter for them. Let him state his stand. Kumaraswamy’s stand has changed on multiple occasions on multiple issues. Therefore, let their party’s national president Devegowda make his stand clear,” Shivakumar said.
The Deputy CM added that JD(S) had made their affinity to the BJP somewhat clear at the state level and demanded that they do the same at the national level.
