Three arrested for assaulting police constable

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: After the assault on a traffic police constable that News Trail had reported on Thursday, another incident came to light at Govindapura Police Station limits where the cops have arrested three persons, including an auto driver, for allegedly assaulting a police head constable in the city.

The incident is said to have taken place around 8:30 pm on Tuesday when the police constable attached to Mahadevapura Police Station, Mallikarjuna Naganura, was returning to his house in Ganganagar.

In his complaint the constable said that while he was returning home, he came across an autorickshaw from which he heard loud noise of music being played. He asked the men sitting inside the vehicle to reduce the volume.

He alleged that the three assaulted him, and one of them even dragged out an iron rod and was about to hit him on his head, when a traffic police team passing by that way, rescued him.

Police on Friday, arrested Hemanth Kumar, Dhanush, and Sharath Kumar for the assault and have also seized the autorickshaw
