AAP: Sand mafia encroached Thirupalya Lake
Bengaluru, NT Bureau: The Aam Aadmi Party delegation led by its vice president Mohan Dasari on Sunday visited the Thirupalya Lake near Hebbagodi in Bengaluru and claimed the water body was being encroached on by the sand mafia.
He claimed the mafias have encroached a lot in the overall area of 16 acres. Sending a war ning against the claimed mafias, Dasari said Anand Malligewad has been involved in the revival work of the lake for many years and reviewing it, and added the mafias have created a lot of obstacles and threats to the revival work and that the AAP will always stand with him in support, fighting against the mafias.
“A lot of chemicals and polluted water are already being released into this lake. Bengaluru Urban Development Minister DK Shivakumar must immediately focus on this and take appropriate strict action”, Dasari said.
AAP party’s Bengaluru vice president Ashok Mruthyunjaya and the leaders from Bengaluru South Constituency Joshava, Rekha Reddy Anil, Krishna Madesh, Praveen, Abhishekharshvardhan took part in the inspection.
