Bengaluru: A 32-year-old security guard is battling for life after he was allegedly stabbed by his lover with a knife in the city. According to the police, the woman attacked him after she found that he was having an affair with another woman.
The incident took place in Ejipura in Bengaluru and the victim was identified as Jogesh Pegu, 32, a native of Assam. As per the sources from the hospital, Jogesh's intestines were damaged in the incident.
The police identified the accused as Juntidas, 25, also a native of Assam. The police said that the accused was a divorcee and had been working at a day-care facility in Bengaluru while Jogesh was working as a security guard in an apartment in Ejipura.
"They got to know each other as they were both natives of the same state. Later, they fell in love, and had been together for two years," said the police.
Meanwhile, Jogesh got into a relationship with another woman and started maintaining distance from Juntidas. Angered by Jogesh’s other affair, Juntidas stabbed him as he had been with her for a long time and had taken a few loans from her.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, Bengaluru Central Division, Srinivas Gowda said, "The accused attempted to kill her boyfriend because she suspected that he had cheated on her in terms of money and also that he was having an affair with another woman. Both the victim and the accused got into a tussle during which she stabbed him with a knife. Police arrested the accused while the injured person is undergoing treatment at a hospital.
