HDK to CM: Take over NICE project
Bengaluru, NT Bureau: JD(S) legislature party leader HD Kumaraswamy on Sunday demanded that the State government take over the Bengaluru-Mysuru corridor project which is currently owned by the Nandini Infrastructure Corridor Enterprise (NICE), adding that action should be taken against “irregularities” in the project.
He was reacting to CM Siddaramaiah’s comment that Kumaraswamy had been CM for a year (2018 to 2019), asking why he hadn’t acted against the irregularities.
The JD(S) leader had claimed his hands had been tied by his Congress coalition partner, which Siddaramaiah branded a lie.
The Congress bigwig pointed out that his party had helped Kumaraswamy waive loans during his tenure. A probe has been ordered into the alleged NICE scam. “Take a bold step and bring the project under the government,” Kumaraswamy demanded.
