Bengaluru: Even before the incessant rains can lead to large-scale flooding, the Opposition BJP has constituted several teams to tour the affected areas and listen to the woes of the affected people.

Preempting this, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has decided to visit all rain and flood-affected districts from July 31.

As a precurson to this, he visited Haveri district where the maximum number of farmers have ended their lives over rural distress.

Learning from the mistake of its predecessor which did not depute ministers to floodhit districts, the incumbent Congress Government has deputed its ministers to the severely rain-affected places to engage in rescue and rehabilitation.

Now the BJP has for med six teams led by B.S. Yediyurappa, Basavaraj Bommai, D.V.Sadananda Gowda, R. Ashok, Basangouda Patil, K. Sunil Kumar, and Nalin Kumar Kateel to visit the flood-hit districts.

Interestingly, the floods have not created widespread havoc though it is true that it has been raining heavily in certain districts like Uttara Kannada, Belagavi, Davangere, Dharwad, Chikkamagaluru and Hassan.
