Bengaluru: Minister for Housing Zameer Ahmed has announced that 262 families of localities such as Jolly Mohalla of Sultanpet and Bakshi Garden in his constituency of Chamarajpet will be provided permanent homes.
The demand for housing has been a long-standing one of families living there. Karnataka Slum Development Board (KSDB) Engineer Balaraju and Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) Joint Commissioner Yogesh were tasked with moving residents of 52 huts that had reportedly encroached storm-water drains (SWDs) in Bakshi gardens to temporary homes until the permament ones are built for them.
