Bengaluru: Hennur police investigating the mysterious death of a 19-year-old student arrested six people including a rowdy-sheeter in connection with the murder.
The accused have been identified as Rocky, Daniel, Srikanth, Abhishek and Nelson. According to the police, the deceased Marvesh was brought to a hospital in Kammanahalli by his friend on Tuesday where he was declared dead.
The hospital said Marvesh’s friend claimed the latter had fallen down after vomiting. The police began a probe after the hospital informed them of Marvesh’s death. Police suspect he was murdered, following repeated assault.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, Bengaluru East, Bheemashankar S Guled, said, "Among the arrested suspects, Karthik, Abhishek and Nelson are college dropouts. The trio was also prior offenders – Karthik has a rowdy-sheet opened against him at Ramamurthy Nagar Police Station. A rowdy-sheet will also be opened in the next few days against Abhishek and Nelson.”
During the probe, police found that one of Marvesh’s friends used to like a girl and send her text messages repeatedly.
However, the girl was dating someone else. After the girl informed her boyfriend, he told Rocky about the alleged harassment by Marvesh’s friend. On the day of the murder, Marvesh was picked up by Rocky and Daniel from his college and handed over to Karthik, Nelson and Abhishek.
They told Marvesh to contact his friend. But despite repeated attempts, Marvesh’s friend remained incommunicado. Angered over this, the three suspects brutally attacked the victim using a poly vinyl chloride (PVC) pipe.
Marvesh was then handed over to another friend who took him to hospital.
